Your Garden, Your Style Competition Winners
In April we launched Your Garden, Your Style competition. We wanted to see what a clever lot you were ….and you did not disappoint.
To enter we asked for a good before and after photo to show how much work had been done and so we could really see the difference that our paint had made.
In addition we asked each entrant to tell us a little bit about the project, what was done, what colours you used, budget etc.
We were completely bowled over by the quality of the entries. The effort, time, creativity and ideas were brilliant.
But like all competitions there could only be one winner. The judges were united in their decision for the winner - Joanne French.
Joanne had used Wood Preserver Plus Plus and Royal Exterior Black on her summer house. She loved the product, so much so it inspired her to upcycle some chairs that she had in her loft that she was going to throw away. She decided to go ‘bright’ and ‘colourful’. Having painted the chairs she felt that the fence needed some attention and even the candlesticks got a lick of metallic silver paint.
Joanne even rescued an old water feature bowl and painted that.
We were so impressed and delighted to see so much of our paint colours being used.
Well done Joanne. We hope that you have enjoyed spending time in your outside space.
If you would like to get the look here are the colours that Joanne used:
Chairs painted in; Drawing Room Gold, Fushia Pink, Lavender, Iris Blue, Mauvenine Purple, Passionate Plum, Jungle Green
Candlestick painted in: Royal Metallics Silver
Summer House and fence Painted: Royal Exterior Black
Fence and bowl: Royal Exterior Jungle Green
Next, we needed to find 3 runners up…well we failed to narrow it down to 3 so we have 4 runners up!!! Each of them will receive £120 of paint, ready for their next projects.
Congratulations to;

Jane Auchincloss
We loved Jane’s stunning ‘Sitooteria’ which in Scottish means a ‘place to sit out’. Using a framework of timber supports, a rear wall of recycled tongue and groove, with a scaffold board floor.
The ‘Sitooteria’ was painted in Wood Stain and Protect Marigold, which really popped out against the lush green foliage. The scaffold boards were painted in Decking Stain Grey. What a haven and no wonder it has been featured in magazines and even a book. Congratulations.
Matt Clark
Matt bought his house because of the garden and has been steadily improving it over the last couple of years. It started with a pergola and shed painted in Royal Exterior Iris Blue.
Then he got a little playhouse for his 5 year old son, who wanted it to be rainbow coloured. We love his little play area.
Such a lovely garden, with something for everyone.
Tony Rowden
Tony has been using Protek wood stain for over 8 years. He has painted his cabin, garden seat and these wonderful raised beds. Each bed has been painted with Royal Exterior Giddy Green, Pillar Box Red, Drawing Room Gold, French Lilac, Lime White and Flamingo Pink. The colours have been alternated for each layer which gives the impression of more colours being used. Thank you Tony for being a super fan!.
Rachel Steele
Rachael created a perfect play area for her little girl, Lily. We all think that Lily is one lucky little lady. The garden is a delight, so sweet and pretty.
The wendy house, picket fence, tiered plant stand and swing are all painted in Royal Exterior China Clay.
The tree is very clever and was painted in Royal Exterior Passionate Plum, Lavender and Fushia Pink.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter and use our paint.
As a business we never tire of seeing our paint being used. We will definitely run the competition again next year….so get creating.
