We’re riding the high from RHS Chelsea - and we’re absolutely buzzing to share that the Bees for Development Buzzing Balcony Garden, brought to life with a beautiful palette of our Royal Exterior paints, was awarded the Silver Gilt Medal as the People’s Choice Best Balcony/Container Garden.

This stunning, story-led garden was created in collaboration with the magnificent team at Bees for Development, an international charity doing incredible work supporting beekeepers and biodiversity across the globe. Their message - that even the smallest spaces can support pollinators, community and climate resilience - came to life in the most joyful and thoughtful way, and we were proud to help bring the colour that tied it all together.
The garden featured hand-crafted planters made from old honey barrels, a bark hive resting in a fallen oak trunk, and planting designed to support pollinators and thrive in challenging climates. Every element told a story - and our Royal Exterior range helped bring that story to life with bold, expressive tones like Carmine Red, Clouded Yellow, and French Lilac. We even created a completely bespoke shade especially for the garden.
Our paint wasn’t just chosen for the colour (though let’s be honest, it looked amazing). It was selected because it’s formulated with care to reduce impact on people, pets and pollinators. That matters - especially in a garden designed to celebrate bees and biodiversity.
We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership achieved and grateful to everyone who visited, supported and cheered the garden on at RHS Chelsea. It’s a reminder that thoughtful design, skilled collaboration and purposeful paint can turn even the smallest outdoor space into something truly special.
