Painting the Way Forward with Avon Valley Railway

At Protek, we love to see our products used in projects that protect, enhance, and preserve spaces that matter - especially when it brings communities together. That’s why we were thrilled to be able to support the Avon Valley Railway a volunteer-led charity with a passion for railway heritage and local connection.
The team at Avon Valley Railway recently took on a big challenge: installing a brand-new 120-metre perimeter fence along the busy Bath to Bristol railway path - right in front of their Bitton Station entrance. To bring the project to life, Avon Valley Railway reached out to local businesses for support and when they came to us to ask for help with staining the new fence black, we were more than happy to contribute. We supplied brushes and all the Black Shed & Fence Stain we thought they might need to help the volunteer crew get the job done.

Seeing our stain bring out the beauty of the new fencing, while protecting it for years to come, was a real joy - but even more so when it’s part of a project that supports heritage, community pride, and the tireless work of volunteers. We believe in building strong local connections - and sometimes, that simply starts with a brush, a bucket of stain, and a shared purpose.
Giving back to the communities that support us is central to our ethos. We’re proud to have been able to support Avon Valley Railway and the incredible work they do preserving local heritage and welcoming visitors of all ages to enjoy it.
