Protek is a dedicated family business that has been at the forefront of water-based timber treatments technology since 1985. From our factory in Somerset we were one of the first chemical manufacturers to offer an alternative to Creosote and spirit-based timber preservatives and coatings which are all derived from fossil fuels. Twenty four years ago Protek launched a water-based fence treatment sold to the fence manufacturing industry.

Protek's 9 Star fence treatment was the first product to be sold as a concentrated solution. Customers dilute the drum of Protek solution at a ratio of 1 part solution to 9 parts water, thus saving money and energy on packaging and transportation around the country.

Since then Protek have grown from strength to strength now offering a wide variety of water-based treatments and coatings; everything from protecting fencing and water-proofing sheds to staining the garden decking. We also offer the most comprehensive range of colours available on the market and are constantly developing new shades in our range to suit forthcoming trends in garden design.
